John Kosek

John Kosek was born in Scranton, Pennsylvania and has lived in Northeastern Pennsylvania all his life.He studied painting at Wilkes University under J. Philip Richards and at Marywood University under Pam Parsons. After spending most of his professional life involved in art education, he is now immersing himself more fully in his paintings. Most of his prior work is in private collections.In addition to creating paintings, he also expresses himself visually through his photography.
Over the past year, his work has taken on a much more spiritual tone. His landscapes are infused with an extension of himself sometimes as an ethereal being, and sometimes in a more literal sense.Many of his paintings are inspired by the feelings experienced after spending hours hiking to remote lofty locations or after viewing celestial objects through a large telescope.He paints both on location and at his home in Moscow, Pennsylvania.

In addition to paintings, some of John's (and Theresa's) photographic work is available in prints, both framed and unframed in sizes ranging from 8 by 10 all the way up to 40 by 60. Larger prints can be mounted on foamboard.
